1Cast, the broadcast platform that delivers up-to-the-minute personalized TV news clips to mobile phones and the desktop, announced that its free service is now available on Android mobile devices. What this means is that you can browse clips from many of the popular news sources — including BBC Worldwide, CNBC, Dow Jones, Reuters and others — on your T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) G1/HTC Dream. All you have to do to proceed is find 1Cast’s app in the Android Market and take it from there.
Commenting on the announcement, 1cast’s President Anthony Bontrager said: “The overwhelming response to our current service offering demonstrates that there is a need and desire for accessing professional news content on the go and with our new Android application, users will have yet another way to get all this for free. Consumers want to access content on their terms, and 1Cast for Android is our latest move to satisfy this demand. We intend to stay several steps ahead of the market by keeping our users engaged and satisfied through our unique personalized newscast platform, while maintaining a viable and scalable business opportunity for our content, advertising and distribution partners.”
