2008 saw a series of great achievements for SpinVox. Conversion numbers and revenues continued to climb as we completed 25 deals. Highlights included launching on our fifth continent – Latin America – with Movistar Chile and entering the Unified Communications market with Avaya. We launched SpinVox Messenger with Vodafone Spain, secured a $100m funding round at a time of market uncertainty, established and grew the Advanced Speech Group in Cambridge, England; and added Italian and Portuguese to the English, Spanish, German and French we convert already. 2009 will be the year when SpinVox – now the world’s largest commercial speech platform – drives the voice messaging feature used by anyone and everyone with a phone and becomes the must-have feature that every CXO mandates, because of the clear financial and service uplift it delivers. We‘ll close over 35 deals and introduce Russian and Arabic conversion into our portfolio. Key to building relationships in the North American market will be our new base in New York. We’ve opened this facility to be close to major corporate headquarters, and to house an expanded team who are committed to breaking open a $20bn marketplace and to 300% growth for SpinVox in 2008/09 as we conquer another stage on our journey up the mountain!

Wow! check out those stats! Personally, I am a big fan of SpinVox, as I’ve said many times before – I have the Voicemail-to-SMS feature set up on my phone, which proves invaluable for when I am in meetings, or unable to take a call. The collection of voicemail is SUCH a tedious process that reading a text is probably 10x quicker all-in.

Check out the SpinVox website here and see if your country is supported – if so, then I’d highly recommend trying it out!

About The Author

Ben Robinson

Ben is a 10+ year veteran of the Mobile industry – starting his career when SMS was a still a relatively new concept for most people (!), he has now consulted on everything from bleeding-edge Mobile content, to the next-gen accessories you might view it on. As a result he has a broad and deep knowledge in numerous areas of Mobile – from network operators to device vendors, to infrastructure and middleware vendors (not to mention content delivery) – and has worked for companies in all of these areas! He is based in the UK, a hotbed of activity for mobile, and recently became a father for the second time – as oppose to in his younger years when he was happy spend time tweaking all manner of mobile devices to 'nth' degree, he now looks for services and hardware that provide the most efficient, compact, and reliable improvements to his already manic life! It’s his opinion that Mobile solutions should be there to help to make your life better – if a particular solution (be it service or device) isn’t doing this, he believes you need to ask the very important question of why you continue to use it... His focus at IntoMobile is mainly on Mobile content, services, and infrastructure, particularly as regards the UK market – and with the occasional look at devices. Additionally, using his extensive experience in the industry, he will provide commentary on the industry at large, with regular (and hopefully thought-provoking) articles.
