Mophie announces Juice Pack air, world’s thinnest external battery for the iPhone 3G

After successfully launching its external batteries for the original and iPhone 3G, Mophie is going one step further. Again, they’re focusing on the iPhone 3G, but this time their twist is in the battery size. The company’s new product is touted as the world’s thinnest Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) certified “Works With iPhone” external battery in the world, and in that sense – it rocks.
The light-weight accessory boasts a rechargeable 1200mAh lithium polymer battery that will virtually double the iPhone 3G’s usage time. Additionally, the Juice Pack air is also designed as a protective case, making sure your beloved handset is kept safe while using it.
Finally, there’s a pass-through iPhone dock connector, 4 LED charge status indicator, as well as the dedicated On/Off switch that offers choice of battery or case.
The Mophie Juice Pack air will be available in black, white or purple during the spring. In the meantime, you can pre-order it for 80 bucks ($79.95) from Mophie’s website.
