With only a few days left before Mobile World Congress gets underway in Barcelona, the announcements are bound to start pouring in, including this one from Opera Mobile. Opera Turbo is geared primarily to OEM and service providers, boasting 80% traffic compression by using their usual trick of processing sites on their servers then shunting the compressed product to browsers. Flash and AJAX are both supported, to boot. Opera’s no stranger to the white label game, having licensed out to many partners in the past, and this new version could potentially rope in a few more. It will be interesting to see just how much faster this Turbo version of the mobile browser is compared to its predecessors.
