While we keep covering Google (NSDQ: GOOG)-led Open Handset Alliance and Apple (NSDQ: AAPL)’s iPhone ecosystems, we often forgot to mentioned Symbian Foundation, which is led by the market leader – Nokia (NYSE: NOK), and in that sense deserves all the coverage it can get.
Today we’ve found out that the Foundation will be stronger for 14 new members soon, including:
- Atelier
- Bank of America
- Gemalto
- HP
- Imagination Technologies
- Mobica
- MySpace
- Nanoradio
- Omron Software
- Qualcomm (NSDQ: QCOM)
- SanDisk
- SESCA
- SiRF Technology
- VirtualLogix
As a reminder, since its formation, 78 companies have said they plan to join the Symbian Foundation to get access to its software. The first Symbian Foundation software will be released this year, while the official introduction of a new platform will happen by June 2010.
