Cisco Releases Free Traffic Monitor for iPhone and BlackBerry Storm

Cisco recently released this neat tool for iPhone and the BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Storm called the Global Internet Speed Test (GIST). It measures audio, web and video speeds at particular Wi-Fi locations, so you can figure out for sure which ones will give you the best mobile experience. Cisco generally works behind the scenes and with enterprise, so it’s kind of cool to see something like this for your average (if technically-minded) user. It would be cool to see something like this working with cellular transfer rates in the near future… In the meantime, want to get the GIST of your Wi-Fi network? Grab it for free on iPhone or BlackBerry Storm.
