Samsung SPH-W7100 comes with 100 decibel siren for emergencies, annoying people

Samsung SPH-W7100

Samsung SPH-W7100 is an interesting device, no doubt about it. For one thing – do you know any other phone that comes with a 100dB alarm siren? The mentioned siren is linked to local emergency services, providing an extra safety for those who carry this device. Likewise, thanks to the built-in GPS receiver, authorities also get your GPS coordinates to come to help as soon as possible.

Now, here’s a twist. Let’s say some “funny dude” cracks the device and stops the function that contacts the local authorities. As a result, you’re left with a relatively nice clamshell designed to annoy people. Sounds like fun, though I’m sure Samsung hasn’t envisioned that kind of use for the W7100. As a matter of fact, it will be marketed at Korean women and children for its launch next month. And if proves as a success, there’s no doubt we’ll see it released in other markets as well. After all, it’s already cleared by the FCC…
