SanDisk is well on the way to bringing out 32 GB microSD for mobile phones after announcing 32 nanometer NAND flash memory. Sure, it’s good news for solid-state drives too, but the 32 GB chip is the last we’ll see of the High-Capacity mobile category before moving up to the recently-announced XC designation, which will take us all the way up to 2 terabytes of storage. In the meanwhile, these 32 GB X3 chips will be seeing production in the second half of this year, likely with proper microSD cards following shortly thereafter. Right now, the biggest microSD memory cards you can pick up are 16 GB, which average for about a hundred bucks.  Be sure to check our talk with SanDisk at CES last month for more on what’s going on with mobile memory.

I just bought a new Kensington 32gb microSDHC for $100 from ebay and it’s working great in my phone!!

  • Craig

Can’t wait to get one of these for the slot in my Hovercar.

Curious when we will see this myself, my 16GB card is full and I don’t feel like walking around with multiple cards, I rather just have a 32GB card.

I’m going to buy two of these to upgrade the pattern buffers and molecular imaging scanner in our home transporter. With only 16 gigs we don’t always re-materialize just right.

i just bought one of these also, probably form the same guy – and theyre counterfeits i think. theyre programmed to say 32gb available, but they sure as hell wont hold more than 16.

perhaps reconfiguring the Heisenberg compensators, and realigning the isolinier chips may do the trick.
