In terms of the retail store chic-factor, Apple kind of has the consumer electronics segment locked down. Exuding the same modern minimalist design that Apple has perfected in their gadgets, Apple stores are at once beacons of good design and incredible customer service.

But, HTC isn’t going to stand by and let Apple steal the customer service limelight for much longer. Check out the HTC Authorized Care Center in Malaysia. If that’s not the kind of retail store/customer service center that will give Apple a good run for their elitist money, we don’t know what is.

The HTC Care Center pictured here isn’t all that big, but the design makes a big impact. We’d imagine that the customer service quality in is going to be top-notch. Unfortunately, a hop across the Pacific just to test out HTC’s service experience isn’t going to go over too well with our accountant. So, if anyone in Malaysia is fortunate enough to check out the HTC Care Center, we’d love to hear how about your experience. Really, just drop a line in the comments section.

Head on over to Ubergizmo for a couple more pics of the HTC Customer Care Center.

HTC hero when Launching in Malaysia. What will be the price?

  • yauhui

Today I dropped by the HTC Care center (as pictured above) to ask a few stuff about my HTC Hero.

To start with, the shop doesn’t actually look as nice as the photos imply.

Customer service wasn’t up to my expectations. Only one staff was behind the counter. I grilled her knowledge on the HTC Hero, and it turned out that she isn’t well-informed about the phone.

For example, here are a few exchanges:

ME: Does the HTC Hero have alphanumeric keypad instead of the QWERTY?

STAFF: *takes a look at the HTC Hero* Uh, sorry but this model only has QWERTY.

ME: If I wanted to update my firmware, what should I do?

STAFF: If I’m not mistaken, the firmware is already the latest.

ME: But HTC just released a new firmware.

STAFF: Really? Oh, let me check. *Googles it up* Oh yeah, then you can download it via your computer.

Really, this is supposed to be a HTC Customer Care center, but the staff only knows the phone at surface-level. Quite a disappointment for HTC.
