lg-830-911Reportedly, somewhere around 30,000 LG 830 Spyder handsets have been recalled. Why? Crappy 911 functionality. The device is having ‘difficulty sustaining a connection or have poor voice quality on calls to emergency 911′. Not cool.

I can’t imagine the level of frustration one would experience when you finally and unfortunately need to make that 911 call. Your heart is pumping, you need help right now… and bam… The device craps out on you. ‘I can’t hear you!’… ‘What!?’… ‘Can you talk louder?’. Now that would suck.

Good on LG for being extra proactive here to nip this in the bud. If you suspect your device may be in the recall, hit up this link to find out. The devices included in the recall have software versions T83LGV03 and T83LGV04.
