Samsung Mobile Innovator Windows Mobile SDK released to make Omnia and other Samsung WinMo devices better

Samsung Mobile InnovatorIt was during the Mobile World Congress when Samsung announced its “Samsung Mobile Innovator” program for Java and Windows Mobile, to support development of games and apps for the two platforms.

Now the Korean company is out with the Samsung Windows Mobile SDK 1.0, offering developers APIs to use advanced features unique to Samsung WinMo smartphones. Among the capabilities developers will be able to access and/or control are standard Windows Mobile APIs like GPS, Bluetooth and multimedia support. In addition, developers will also be able to access other phone features such as the accelerometer, notification LEDs and haptic feedback.

Finally, to make things even easier for interested parties, the Samsung also released a couple of Windows Mobile and Samsung API related white papers.

Samsung Mobile Innovator is free to join. The basic (Hub) membership is open to everyone and there’s also an invite-only, Core membership level.
