Previously referred to vaguely as the Application Storefront, RIM’s direct-to-device channel for BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) applications has been officially christend as App World. As announced at the Developer Conference in October, the update was due to go live in March, and here we are with a proper name, likely to lead up to a public launch in the next couple of weeks. A full site for developers, blackberry.com/appworld, should be going live sometime tonight, along with notification sign-ups for those who just can’t wait to get rolling in the apps.
