Google Finance Android app

Google (NSDQ: GOOG) has released a dedicated Android app for its Google Finance service, allowing user around the world to watch their portfolio tanking in real time, as well as get other useful and not that useful market indicators — all while on the go.

Among the features included are the ability to get stock quotes, market data and related financial news. Moreover, if you are following the markets throughout the day, there’s a real-time streaming quotes in your portfolio, fast stock look-ups with search auto-suggestion, and “recent quotes” to make it even easier receive quotes on-the-go.

For each stock/company, you can see detailed quotes, charts and news, while any change you make from your handset automatically syncs up with the Google Finance website, which is super cool.

Available only for the U.S. users at the moment, Google Finance for Android can be downloaded for free from Android Market.

Small correction re: “Available only for the U.S. users”, it’s available to everyone, but only shows US markets.

Wow! That’s awesome! I can’t wait until I’m able to replace my current mobile with an Android device.

Yahoo really needs to consider making a good app for finance as well. I find both Google and Yahoo finance sites very useful.
