While these two new phones from Motorola (NYSE: MOT) aren’t what you’d call pretty, or even heavy on horsepower, but they’re certainly ready to work. A 3.25″ 320 x 240 touchscreen, Wi-Fi and Windows Mobile 6.1 come along with both the MC5590 and MC5574, pictured respectively above, but the main differences being in keyboard layout and Push-To-Talk on the antenna-toting 5590, and quad-band EDGE with GPS capabilities on the MC5590. A bunch of accessories are launching with the series, like multi-device charging docks and cabled adapters for car charing and data transfer, so right off the bat companies can get fully kitted-out to support their new handsets. On the ruggedness front, the MC55s are designed to withstand 4ft. drops to concrete, and can withstand year-round weather. Expect these in North America sometime in the second quarter, but in the meanwhile you can check out Moto’s promo site.
