Samsung Smooth coming to Verizon Wireless

Verizon (NYSE: VZ) Wireless will be adding a new low-end phone to its portfolio in the coming weeks. While we’re not sure about the exact release date, we’re sure the Samsung Smooth is designed for the first time phone buyers, or for those who are not really looking up into the feature set that much. That said, this entry-level clamshell won’t fascinate many with its VGA camera and 128×160 display. EV-DO is out and so is the microSD card slot, meaning you can’t access Internet services nor use it as a music player — it’s for calling and texting, only. In that sense, once it gets all official before the end of March, Verizon will offer the Smooth for next to nothing on a contract…
