
It seems Microsoft forgot to mention one important feature of its upcoming Windows Mobile 6.5 – widgets. Apparently, the Redmond giant will pre-install some kind of widget engine that will rely on Mobile Internet Explorer’s rendering engine. From what we’ve heard, users will be able to start widgets even without a dedicated app, through Windows Mobile’s Start menu.
And that’s about all we know at this stage. It’s kinda fair to argue Microsoft will release more details on this in the near future. After all, the idea should be to have few dozen if not hundreds of widgets ready for the official launch. In that sense, informing their partners and the media of their widget offering is a must. We’ll see where this goes…
