UK: Sony Ericsson C905 getting returned a lot?

According to Mobile Today, Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) are suffering real problems with the C905, in terms of return rates.
The two items singled out are split across software and hardware – the O/S freezing is one big issue (apparently), and the speaker also has faults too….. this supposedly leading to return rates of [wait for it]…. 30% in some areas?! Surely not? That’s VERY high for a new handset.
According to SE, the issues with early handset batches have now been resolved – but this follows recalls on some previous products too – and getting a name for having SW issues is something that no software/solutions vendor wants. Well I still really like the spec and look of the C905 – perhaps I need to get one on a long-term review basis….Sony Ericsson PR any thoughts on that?
On the positive side, the upcoming W995 and Idou (which I’m sure will get a codename soon enough) should rock the house – let’s hope these two handsets really shine for SE
