According to TechDigest (via Reuters), Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) has announced deals with Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment and EMI Music, that will give users DRM-free tracks via their mobile network.
So now we have an interesting situations with Nokia (NYSE: NOK) “Comes with Music” (ostensibly free, but DRM’d), and Vodafone, who will be charging, but not adding DRM!
Fist-fight between Operator and Handset Vendor anyone?
