Motorola to Crank out 10 Phones by Second Half?

An analyst from Oppenheimer & Co. is feeling good about Motorola (NYSE: MOT), and says they could be churning out up to 10 handsets in the second half. Wowee, you wouldn’t have been able to tell from their non-exhibit at Mobile World Congress, that’s for sure. Motorola’s been hurting with cutbacks, just like everyone else these days, but when you consider that juicy incentive for the mobile unit’s CEO to turn things around, it wouldn’t be surprising to see such an aggressive move. If Palm (NSDQ: PALM) has proved anything, it’s that necessity is the mother of invention, even if it’s a necessity to keep your company (and job) afloat; at this point, Motorola’s definitely in the same boat.
