Next Gen iPhones to get OLED Displays from LG?

Much rumor and speculation has been bouncing around for some time now surrounding the next gen iPhone. Today, more news that LG has been asked by Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) to supply different sizes of organic light emitting diode (OLED) screens. While Apple denied the OLED rumors last year, this rumor certainly comes as no surprise. My only question now, is will there be different sizes of iPhone to choose from in the near future? If LG is manufacturing different size screens… Could their be an iPhone Mini on the way? We’ll have to wait and see.
OLED displays use a thin layer of organic compounds that react to electricity by producing light. The end result is a display that is much more energy efficient than today’s traditional LED displays. Not only that, but performance and quality of picture would be enhanced as well using OLED technology. Only areas of the screen that are required to emit light would light up, which would mean higher contrast, deeper blacks, and just an overall better picture.
