At the end of January, we talked about the Samsung B2100 handset. The rugged candybar is now officially official and it’s designed for those living on the edge. And by “edge” we mean that the B2100 aka Xplorer has an IP57 certificate protection, which means it can be accidentally dropped in water and left there for about 30 minutes, after which it should continue working like nothing happened. In addition, the Xplorer can resits temperature shocks, blowing rain and salt fog.
As for the other specs, there’s a quad-band (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) GSM/GPRS/EDGE radio on board, 1.77-inch 120×160 pixels screen, music player, Bluetooth, and a microSD memory card slot. Size wise, the Xplorer measures 113×48.9×17.4 mm, and has a weight of 103 grams.
Pricing was not unveiled, but we know that starting from April it will be available in Germany and other European countries…
