Another Sign New iPhones are Coming? Fido to Deplete iPhone 3G Stock Starting in April

Rogers (NYSE: RCI)’ discount carrier up in Canada, Fido, has put out some interesting news surrounding the iPhone 3G. Apparently Fido is planning to discontinue sales of the 16GB iPhone model, and are gearing up to deplete their stock at the beginning of April. They will not be reordering any new iPhones once stock is gone. That is, they won’t be reordering any of the current generation iPhone devices…
This looks to be just another small sign that new iPhone model(s) could very well be due to hit us this summer. With carriers unloading their stock of 8GB and 16GB iPhone 3G’s… all signs are pointing to next gen iPhones coming real soon. In the meantime, there’s never been a better time to pick up an iPhone 3G, as prices are dropping fast and will probably continue to do so until stock runs dry.

i hope iPhone 3G owners can upgrade….
For some reason i don’t think they’re getting the new iphone. I just think they’re getting rid of stock just so rogers can be the only carrier with the iphone.. Remember fido is a low budget carrier!
I havn’t seen the price come down 1 red cent, at rogers, fido or resellers…
Maybe it’s just a sign that Fido will no longer be carrying the iPhone, given its status as the discount carrier on the Rogers GSM network. it’s not the first sign. For several weeks there has been a full page iPhone advert in the Globe and Mail (Toronto) which shows the Apple logo and the Rogers logo at the bottom of the advert but no Fido logo. It’s quite a shame; Rogers wants to ignore the fact that many business people use Fido – after all who wants to pay for Rogers/Bell/Telus a two minute charge for a 65 second call when Fido will only charge for precisely 65 seconds. This will strip Fido of high value iPhone customers like me whose monthly phone bill ranges from $145.00 – $185.00 and drive us into Rogers greedy arms – too bad!
That’s really a need of new iPhone with replaceable battery, increased camera resolution and other similar things!
