HTC Escapes German Legal Clutches
By Simon Sage on Friday, March 20th, 2009 at 9:37 AM PST In HTC, Legal, Patents

IP-Com and HTC were trading legal blows which could have eventually led to HTC devices being banned from Germany. Luckily, the UMTS patent infringement claims have been suspended by courts, as the real problem lies with a chipset vendor rather than HTC themselves. Although the buck as been successfully passed, and HTC should be fine to continue doing their thing in Germany, they are working with said chipset vendor to make something else that works in everybody’s favour. Way to dodge the bullet, HTC.
