Native Windows Mobile YouTube App Launched

Right behind the S60 YouTube application is another version for Windows Mobile. The big talk, however, is the possibility of YouTube using Silverlight rather than Flash technology as demonstrated in their March Madness channel. WinMo devices have already shown they can handle Silverlight with the Skyfire mobile browser, and Internet Explorer Mobile is due to get it soon, so it’s entirely possible; it sure would be great if Silverlight support started finding its way into other apps. The Google (NSDQ: GOOG) Mobile app made it to Windows Mobile earlier this month as well – perhaps Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) and the search giant are starting to get along a bit better, but of course, that largely depends on how clingy Microsoft gets to Live Search. To get started with YouTubing, head over m.youtube.com on your mobile browser and download the native Windows Mobile app.
