Congratulations on MMS and cut/paste, iPhone. Welcome to five years ago.

Aw, sorry, is that a bit snide? In all honesty, iPhone 3.0 was a pretty big deal and Will and I sum up our impressions in this week’s podcast. There’s a lot going on in the BlackBerry world, including the 9630 Niagara, the 8325 Curve and the contentious BlackBerry 9900. We had heard of a Bold with a touchscreen named Magnum, but this is the first we’ve seen of it, however some think it’s just a big hoax, based on spotting the old 8800 microphone. What do you say? Drop a vote in this week’s poll and maybe we can come to some kind of concensus. Our weekly giveaways continue, this time with skins from DecalGirl to five lucky commenters. Stefan will win the Plantronics 925 Discovery Headset from last week, but hey, try your luck again this go-round: just leave a comment and you’re entered.

There’s plenty more news after the jump!

Music by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, as featured on Tap Tap Revenge for the iPhone.

Filler by Krazy Baldhead.

Simon Sage

Simon Sage’s education largely surrounded writing, technology and online community, leading him to begin his blogging career at www.BlackBerryCool.com and to quickly discover a vibrant and active community surrounding BlackBerry and mobile technology. In exploring RIM’s platform, he has learned what enterprises are looking for in mobility as well as what makes the innocuous BlackBerry so appealing to them. Recently Simon’s been covering RIM’s gradual move into an already-crowded consumer market, and the impact of burgeoning challengers, such as the iPhone, as well as long-time leaders, like Nokia, on BlackBerry’s advancement. With plenty of content under his belt, Simon will be branching off a bit to see what other smartphone manufacturers are working on while still using BlackBerry as a barometer. At IntoMobile, you can count on his posts being even-handed, well-informed and thought-out.
