For those times when you need to make it painfully obvious that you don’t want the guy beside you on the bus reading your e-mails, or when you’re on some remote Caribbean island trying to pretend to do some work, but that dang glare keeps stopping you, the Mobile Visor is there to cover your BlackBerry’s screen. Seriously? $8.95 isn’t much to pay for something like this, but honestly, I find it hard to believe many people are either A) using their BlackBerry outdoors enough to warrant this level of glare protection or B) so paranoid about peeping toms that they wouldn’t just get a screen-hugging privacy screen. Crazy. If, in the one-in-a-million chance you want to pick one of these up, they’re available at NewPCGadgets.

In exploring RIM’s platform, he has learned what enterprises are looking for in mobility as well as what makes the innocuous BlackBerry so appealing to them. Recently Simon’s been covering RIM’s gradual move into an already-crowded consumer market, and the impact of burgeoning challengers, such as the iPhone, as well as long-time leaders, like Nokia, on BlackBerry’s advancement.
With plenty of content under his belt, Simon will be branching off a bit to see what other smartphone manufacturers are working on while still using BlackBerry as a barometer. At IntoMobile, you can count on his posts being even-handed, well-informed and thought-out.
