Motorola closes movie store for mobiles

According to New Media Age, Motorola (NYSE: MOT) has shut down the movie store that it opened with Paramount, only six months ago. This is in stark contrast to Samsung, who have just opened theirs!
The service allowed sideloading of full-length films, the viewing of which has become an increasingly popular pastime for the many users that use their devices in-situ (most notably it seems at home!). Motorola had previously been pushing the multimedia capabilities of some of their devices very strongly – the Z8 and Z10 notably – pre-loading the Bourne films, to customers’ delight I’m sure (what a great set of films…!).
It’s a real shame to see more woes coming Motorola’s way – they’ve been in the news quite a bit in the last 6 months, with job cuts in October and January – lets just hope this is all in-process for a strong return later in the year…
