According to Mobile Today, Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) and Orange are in final discussions to sell Apple’s Laptops with Orange network access, starting this summer! It will mean a subsidy of the cost of the Laptops for taking out a mobile broadband subscription (which, given the price of Apple kit, you can expect to be fairly hefty…2 years anyone?). The deal apparently will include the MacBook (no surprise there), and supposedly testing has been done between the Laptops and dongles. It’s suspected that only Orange’s direct channels will have the Laptops available, and that this deal could help generate some kind of embedded broadband laptop deal going forward.

Of course, there is another persisting rumour that Apple is readying a netbook, but there’s a lot of hearsay around this – if they wanted to do minimal changes and get something to market quickly, the MacBook is an obvious choice – lets see how it plays out….!
