Vodafone to enable Twitter updates – could be free??
By Ben Robinson on Thursday, March 26th, 2009 at 3:25 PM PST In UK News, Vodafone
Electricpig.co.uk is reporting that Twitter SMS updates are returning on Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) – there’s nothing official right now, but Twitter should get a major shot in the arm traffic-wise by Voda allowing updates to/from Twitter. Things were working fine until last August, when they were blocked, but they are back once again – a bit like the Renegade Master (if you are a fan of 90’s dance music!)
There’s another interesting angle here though – apparently it might be the case that Vodafone makes updates FREE – can you imagine – which would REALLY stimulate traffic! Electricpig is a reliable source of information so we could fully expect this info to pan out with official announcements soon enough… let’s give it a few weeks and see!
Thanks to Ben for the info update there

I signed up to the service yesterday on Twitter. It was a fairly simple process, enter your mobile number under devices, then you will be given a code which you need to text back to the number given on the Twitter page.
I now have my Twitter messages being sent to my phone courtesy of Vodafone, though I would suggest using the scheduling function in Twitter to switch off updates during the night. That is, if you want to get any sleep. @jasonslater.
