vodafone mobile broadband Vodafone cheapest for mobile broadband roaming, says reportReporting on Cellular News, a study done by “Broadband-Expert” has shown some quite/very variable costs between mobile broadband offerings in the UK, when those offerings are used abroad. Regular readers of my posts will know I have a bit of a bee in my bonnet about these costs anyway, but it would appear that costs vary from £3.94/Mb down to 20p/Mb (if you used your entire allocation of 50Mb at £9.99/day with Vodafone (NYSE: VOD)) in EU countries.

I’m not surprised that Voda has come out cheapest, as they’ve always been good with roaming, but this really hammers the point home – worst were Orange, at a rate which frankly makes my fingers sink back in to my hands and stops me from typing when travelling!

In case you are wondering, T-Mobile (NYSE: DT), O2 (NYSE: TEF), and Three were middle of the pack in this test, with rates that were still pretty high – ranging £1.50/Mb through to £3.00/Mb. If you want to see the exact amounts/providers, check here at Cellular News.
