While doin’ some casual surfing around this afternoon, I happened to come across a new app from Lance Armstrong and the folks at LiveStrong.com. They’ve released a new Calorie Tracker app, now available for the BlackBerry for $2.99 in the App World. A companion to ‘The Daily Plate‘ service at LiveStrong, the app will help you determine daily calorie targets based on your current weight and your weight goal… Looks like there are a ton of cool features built-in. The official schpiel from LiveStrong:

The LIVESTRONG.COM Calorie Tracker application is the companion tool to The Daily Plate service, available for $2.99 at BlackBerry App World™. The Daily Plate at LIVESTRONG.COM helps you determine a daily calorie target based on your weight and weight goal. Then you can search the extensive database of more than 525,000 foods for nutritional information including fat, sugar, carbohydrates, cholesterol and more. You can also search 2,000 fitness items and calculate how many calories you can burn with those activities. With a simple tap, you can track how many calories you can consume, burn and net on a daily basis.

Head on over to LiveStrong for more details, or hit up the BlackBerry App World from your Berry to purchase.

This application is no longer available from the blackberry application store (BB App World).

  • Jenn

This item is still available from Blackberry App Store, but only for certain models of BB phones.

It sucks that the BB App Store is restricted to a few countries. There is no way we can buy this in India, for example. I’m going to be ditching my BB solely for this reason. The days of using phones without access to proper apps are gone. Wake up RIM!
