Okay here is my question. I am on a iphone 2g and it is unlocked and jailbroken. Now I know the 3.0 software can be jailbroken and I keep hearing everyone say if you have Iphone 3g do not update unless you want to lose the unlocking ability.

My question is what about Iphone 2g? Can I update to 3.0 and still unlock my phone to use with t-mobile. I do not have a iphone 3g?

Thx will, great article...

i jailbroken my iphone 3g 2.2 the upated with a customized 2.2.1. Everything worked great and i was able to unlock it. The problem is i need to install some applications that are only available for 2.2 firmware version.

I heard about an application called "iUitility" that enables you to change the software version temporarly without restoring the actual firmware and flashing your baseband. So basically it is safe to use it while ur on 2.2.1 jailbroken, unlocked to chage software version to 2.2 and install ur 2.2 compatible softwares, then return to ur 2.2.1 original firmware thru the same software.

Is that true? if not is there any other or safer way to install 2.2 applications on 2.2.1 ?

Please help... thank you so much for ur great work.. i always read ur blog.
