Carriers would offer completely open internet access if they could recoup their investment and make a decent profit from it. They still need the $$$ from voice plans to support the network. So if you want an completely open internet, I am sure that whatever carrier would be willing to sell you $150 5gig plan with no problem. Would you buy the plan then? This is just a case of everyone wanting something for nothing. Skype pays for the interconnection to the internet, but does that really cover the cost of the cellular network, nope. Lets be real.
