Where the respondant developers come from? There is no indication of the replyer geography origin. It's sure, if you are looking at US developer Symbian will be in limbo.

I'm not even sure the Symbian developers will look into using SkyHook solution if they are targeting non english target. Currently their siolution didn't work properly with some locale settings, such as French ones...

The smartphone OS vendors need to accelerate support for HTML5 & BONDI/PhoneGap. Then, application developers can develop & deploy the same web app to all of the smartphone OSes simultaneously.

Easier for developers...a more balanced distribution of apps to all smartphones.

One problem with this survey - WebOS developers themselves weren't asked.

In today's economic client it is acknowledged that caution will prevail. Once the Palm Pre has been released and sales numbers increase I expect to see great numbers of location-based applications for the WebOS platform. Given the ability to interact with other applications, and work in the background, WebOS is THE OS for incorporating location based applications and services.
