T-Mobile set to announce European BlackBerry collaboration on April 22

Just yesterday we speculated that T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) was getting ready to launch something new in NYC on April 21. Today, we’re hearing that T-Mobile’s European operations are also gearing up for some sort of “BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) collaboration” announcement in London on April 22. That happens to coincide with the April 21 event in NYC, time zones being what they are.
The T-Mobile event in London will likely result in a new BlackBerry handset launch. At the very least, we’ll see some sort of service collaboration coming down the pipeline. But, more intriguing is the possibility that the London event will mirror the US event.
The European T-Mobile announcement could point to a US launch of a new T-Mobile BlackBerry handset, but it’s a bit of a stretch. T-Mobile USA has already picked up the BlackBerry 8900 Curve, and the Bold is already spoken for by AT&T. So, we’re still expecting our T-Mobile USA press event to launch the HTC Magic, Android OS Cupcake update or the 3G-capable Sidekick.
