It would make sense that Taiwan-based HTC would launch one of their latest Touch handsets in their home-country first. We’re hearing from DigiTimes that HTC is getting set to launch the HTC Touch Diamond2 in Taiwan later this month. The Touch Diamond2 (TD2) is slated to go live in Taiwan in the second half of April, and is reportedly aimed at the a $647 price-point.
We’ve been hearing from every corner of the blogosphere that the HTC Touch Diamond2 and HTC Touch Pro2 might be launching in Europe with a roughly $600 price tag, and this latest rumor seems to fall in line quite nicely. Unfortunately, we may have to wait until Summer’s in full swing before we see the Touch Diamond2 or Touch Pro2 hitting US shores with T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) USA.
Now, if the US launch of the Touch Pro2 and Touch Diamond2 weren’t rumored for less than a few months after the handsets’ initial launches in Europe and Asia, we might have had to jump the Pacific and live in Taiwan for a couple months. With a 3.2-inch VGA touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi, gobs of RAM/ROM and serious street-cred, the TD2 would be worth the move.
