The Palm (NSDQ: PALM) Pre is going to have some stiff competition in the new iPhone and Android 1.5 devices, which are scheduled to go live later this year. As such, the Pre is going to need go toe-to-toe with features that match, and hopefully surpass, those on the iPhone and future Android handsets. Multi-tasking? Check. Capacitance touchscreen? Check. Built-in screenshot utility? Of course!
Mobile Crunch has confirmed that taking screenshots on the Palm Pre is almost as simple as the iPhone’s home-and-power-button method. Taking a screenshot of the Palm Pre’s display requires a three-button combo – hold down the Orange, Sym and P keys to take a screenshot.
The screenshot is saved locally as an image file, which can then be offloaded or emailed or Bluetooth’ed or, well, you get the idea.

This year there are going to be lots of really awesome smartphones on the market and they are only going to get better, thanks to all the competition.
Apple really stimulated some great innovation in the mobile industry. It was kinda sleepy, before then.
