Obviously bright and capable guys in the SOSCO (S60 on Symbian Customer Operations) team have managed to make Symbian S60 run on an off-the-shelf Atom based motherboard from Intel. And while that’s impressive and certainly opens tons of possibilities, considering the capability of the platform, there’s no idea what to do about it. Rather, at this stage Symbian Foundation only tries to get some feedback from the community and explore the various possibilities.
Lee Williams, who wrote the original post on Symbian Blog, finds UI responsiveness and upper application layers impressive. Now the question is what could a smart (or not that smart) OEM make out of it? Some new device? Tablet? Netbook? Any thoughts?
