Kevin, check out this article - which should be getting much wider coverage - on the dropped frame rate of the Samsung Omnia HD (aka i8910): http://bit.ly/W6q1S

Long story short: despite the claim, this phone does not record HD video.

Cheers

This is not a good idea overall nor should it be a replacement for the Apple TV. Many people play with their phones and computers while watching shows and movies on their TV. I sure do not want cables strung across the living room to my iPhone and TV while I watch a movie and surf the web, twitter, facebook and email all together. Besides, in order to do the higher HD output that means the iPhone has to also store the higher def files which are significantly larger than the current iPhone video files.

Why would I want to tie up my phone playing back a movie?

At least other HD phones have a real purpose: recording HD video.
