Why has sprint launched a product that is a step backwards? The s30 may have a couple of superficial improvements, such as Opera 4.2 (which can be downloaded on many handsets), the fact that this phone uses CDMA Rev 0, while the original uses the much faster (especially on uploads) Rev A chip, completely befuddles.

What makes it even worse is that Instinct s30 is the same price as it's higher spec predessor. If Sprint did this to save $$$, they are not passing them on to us.

And of course, Sprint's competition is caught up or even surpassed them. Alltel got the superior (and sexier) Motorola Evoke, ATT gets Samsung's best Impression. Even MetroPCS (who has 1/10th the subscribers) gets the Samsung Finesse, which is the same as the Instinct in hardware specs. And US Cellular is about to get the LG UX840, which is superior to the Instinct s30.

I don't know what is going on in Sprint's mind, when it comes to choosing handsets.

when i had the original instince, i typed faster then the keyboard allowed, causing many mistakes and a lot of lag time. do you know if this is fixed with the s30?
