Elvis at the O2! Er… what?

Yep you didn’t read it wrong – I got an email from the UK’s leading entertainment venue, The O2 (NYSE: TEF) – and it said:
Elvis Presley. In concert. At The O2.
As you can imagine, I was a little bit “WTF?!” until I read the explanation:
See highlights of Elvis’s greatest concerts on ‘King’-size video screens. On the stage, a 16-piece orchestra and backing vocals – including some of the original TCB band and singers – will perform live and in sync with Elvis.
So there you have it – a bit weird to my mind, but it should be a memorable experience, and great for Elvis fans! O2 subscribers can off course get their hands on tickets with the priority system that O2 uses:

This show is not to be missed if you like Elvis Presley.
It’s Elvis on a huge screen, but with his original band members and backing singers live on stage. They have to keep in time with Elvis on the screen. It amazes me how they do it. It’s mainly through the drummer, Ronnie Tutt, who counts it in at the beginning – then they are off!
It’s such a thrill to see these musicians and singers perform live. You get that authentic Elvis music, and then Elvis’ original vocals from the screen.
There are no silly Elvis impersonators. Just pure Elvis!
I have seen this Concert some 16 times now since it’s first outing in the UK in 1999. It is the nearest you will get to experiencing Elvis in Concert. No impersonators are involved – only the original band members and backing vocalists. The show is timed to perfection and it is certainly an experience to be in the same concert hall as around 10,000 people shout THE KING on during his performance. From the ‘2001 Theme’ to ‘Elvis Has left The Building’ the concert is a modern day miracle which has already earned it a place in the Guinness Book Of World Records. Miss it at your peril!
