Facebook 1.5 for BlackBerry Released

After getting an early sneak peek last month, Facebook 1.5 for BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) is now available. Integrating Facebook friends with BlackBerry contacts is the biggest change, allowing profile pictures to find their way to your caller ID and event invitations to pop up automatically in your calendar app. Smaller tweaks, like additional language support and notifications in the Messages folder are also a part of the package, and of course all the usual goodness of picture sharing and tagging, friend-poking, status updating, and wall posting is still there. I’m still waiting on an official LinkedIn app, though… It seems bizarre that such a businessy device still hasn’t plugged into the primary professional social network out there. In any case, head over to mobile.blackberry.com on your smartphone to get the Facebook app updated, or better yet, nab it from the App World.
