March Mobile Metrics Report Released by AdMob… Android Catches Palm OS in US Operating Systems Market Share

The latest version of the Mobile Metrics Report released by AdMob is now out and available for download. These reports are often very interesting to browse through, and this months’ edition is no exception.
As you can clearly see in the chart above, Android OS has caught up with Palm (NSDQ: PALM) OS in market share (at least in the US). Strong gains for Android, same old for Palm. One can only hope that once the Pre launches that WebOS is a hit… It should be interesting to see these numbers change over the coming months… Could be tough goings for Palm, even with the new Pre hitting us shortly. Just a few of the things they have to overcome:
- New Android devices hitting us left, right… and center.
- Anticipated launch of next-gen iPhone devices.
- Continued development and launch of new devices (and OS 5.0) from RIM.
Those are just a few key points. Clearly Palm needs to hit one ‘out of the park’ to make any mark at all this summer. Will the Pre and WebOS succeed, or will it be the ‘last hurrah’ for Palm? I’m keeping fingers crossed over here.

This is just the share of OS users who hit their mobile advertisements.
Not really something to be proud of, except it means the browser actually makes you read those
