Nokia Green Explorer

Nokia (NYSE: NOK) Beta Labs is out with yet another interested project. It’s called Green Explorer and it allows people with sustainable lifestyle to explore and enjoy the world. That said, users of the service — which is pretty much designed as a social network — can share information, give guidance and communicate about their eco-friendly traveling. This translates into ability to share photos, discus various issues, post comments and rate them, and do all other things you would do on a social network.

Location-aware element is also included in the mix, hence there are eco city guides and an option to catch up with eco news feeds from many cities around the world, Lonely Planet destinations and WWF projects included in the point of interests, local recycling instructions, local information about sustainable food choices, and suggestions on the best eco-friendly places to visit…

Nokia Green Explorer website can be accessed from greenexplorer.nokia.com. The same URL will work in mobile browsers, and there’s also an S60 Web Runtime Widget for compatible devices. A short video demoing the service follows after the jump.
