Opera Mini is arguably one of the world’s best mobile web browsers. By off-loading page-processing to Opera’s proxy servers, Opera Mini is capable of serving up full-form webpages with desktop-like speed and accuracy. And, today’s latest growth figures prove that the world is fast catching on to the power of Opera Mini.

Opera has announced that March 2009 showed a 157% increase in usage over the past year, with a 12.1% growth in usage since February 2009. March saw 23 million people using Opera Mini to browse the web from their mobile phones. Opera Mini users seeked out 8.6 billion pages in March 2009 a 255% year-on-year increase and a 17.4% sequential monthly increase. And, to prove that it ain’t cheap serving up all that mobile-data, Opera says that they’ve moved some 148 million MB worldwide in March 2009 alone.

Kudos to Opera!
