ImageShack’s Tweetero is an open-source Twitter app for the iPhone

ImageShack, which you may know for their photo uploading and sharing service, released a new iPhone application. It’s Twitter client, Tweetero, that prides itself with an open code.
All of the standard Twitter features are included with the app — including the ability to follow your friends’ updates, see replies, and send and receive messages. Additionally, you can upload photo to Yfrog, which is ImageShack’s “version” of TwitPic.
According to Mashable, the “story behind the story” is that the photo sharing sites are trying to get Twitter users on their side. That said, you may’ve heard or you’re currently using some of the other Twitter image upload services like Photobucket’s TwitGoo and TwitPic, current leader of the space.
Tweetero is still not available in the AppStore — it’s in the submission process at the time of this writing — but if you want to know more, here’s the app’s page at Google (NSDQ: GOOG) Code.
UPDATE: Tweetero is now available in the AppStore.
