Nokia N97 widget competition

Remember the Nokia N97 widget competition, which the Finnish giant launched in December of last year? The winner has been announced during the recently ended Nokia Developer Summit in Monaco. It’s called Rocket and it’s a social location (SoLo) widget developed by David Emmanuel Castro Guerrero from Mexico.

As an award, Guerrero went home with the brand new Nokia N97 pre-loaded with his own widget on the home screen. Also as part of the deal, Rocket will have prime status on the homepage of the upcoming Ovi Store, ensuring tons of people will be able to grab his creation.

As for the runners up, there are Marco Lobb from Italy, who designed the widget, Shoppy, a shopping list application and built on-site by Inova IT from Slovenia and Bruce Hopkins, who designed Travel Planner and built by PavingWays from Germany. These widgets will also be featured on the homepage of store.ovi.mobi.
