vufone

vufone is brand new service, designed to help users share, manage and unify all the social content between their mobile devices and the Internet through a single interface.

Launched in the UK, the service allows users to automatically synchronise and share their mobile content across the spectrum of popular social media websites such as Facebook, Flickr, Gmail and soon YouTube and more — all from one location.

Among the vufone features are:

  • Share – ability to automatically upload and send images and videos from a mobile phone to social networks like Facebook, Flickr, Picasa and soon also YouTube and Twitter with one update. (Note: other services such as ShoZu can also do this.)
  • Synchronise – Microsoft Outlook or Google Calendar meetings, tasks and contacts can be automatically synchronised with user’s mobile phones.
  • Backup – once its on vufone’s servers, all your data is safe and secure, ready to be restored to your mobile phone on demand.

But the list doesn’t stop there – here are some other features we find interesting:

  • Ability to upload songs to your phone from the web or listen to your mobile music when online.
  • The MyPersona – lets users have their profile picture appear on their friend’s phone when they call.
  • Cheap messaging – users can send SMS or MMS through vufone’s web interface.

vufone works on most modern phones and it’s available for only 9.99 GBP per year, which they say is “a small price to pay for synchronising your mobile and web worlds, and great peace of mind.”
