Paramount Digital Entertainment has announced a Top Gun game for iPhone and iPod touch is available on the Apple App Store. Inspired by the classic film, the Top Gun app places players at the United States Navy Fighter Weapons School, where instructors Maverick and Iceman will help them compete to become the next Top Gun. Players can take control of a F-22 Raptor or a B-2 Spirit stealth bomber, shoot down MiGs and dodge incoming air-to-air and surface-to-air missiles, all while navigating intricate environments and weaving in and out of the Danger Zone.
Top Gun takes full advantage of the capabilities of the iPhone and iPod touch and the first person jet shooter game features 10 missions in a variety of environments, including oceans, deserts, canyons and city centers, both during the day and at night. Players can take out enemies by locking-on and firing their missiles, while aerial and ground-based obstacles create multiple Danger Zones to navigate. Top Gun will also feature iconic songs from the “Top Gun” movie soundtrack. Top Gun players can earn medals and achievements while progressing through Story Mode and can also revisit previously completed missions in the game’s Instant Action Mode.
Top Gun for iPhone and iPod touch is available now from Apple’s App Store or at for an introductory launch price of $1.99 (£1.19) and will be regularly priced at $3.99.

Ben is a 10+ year veteran of the Mobile industry – starting his career
when SMS was a still a relatively new concept for most people (!), he has
now consulted on everything from bleeding-edge Mobile content, to the
next-gen accessories you might view it on. As a result he has a broad and deep knowledge in numerous areas of Mobile – from network operators to device vendors, to infrastructure and middleware vendors (not to mention content delivery) – and has worked for companies in all of these areas!
He is based in the UK, a hotbed of activity for mobile, and recently
became a father for the second time – as oppose to in his younger years
when he was happy spend time tweaking all manner of mobile devices to
'nth' degree, he now looks for services and hardware that provide the most efficient, compact, and reliable improvements to his already manic life! It’s his opinion that Mobile solutions should be there to help to make
your life better – if a particular solution (be it service or device)
isn’t doing this, he believes you need to ask the very important question
of why you continue to use it...
His focus at IntoMobile is mainly on Mobile content, services, and
infrastructure, particularly as regards the UK market – and with the
occasional look at devices. Additionally, using his extensive experience
in the industry, he will provide commentary on the industry at large, with
regular (and hopefully thought-provoking) articles.
