Booyah — a Silicon Valley start-up founded by former games industry veterans Keith Lee, Brian Morrisroe and Sam Christiansen — announced that they have raised $4.5 million in Series A financing from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers’ (KPCB) iFund.

Those not familiar — until this article, myself included — should know that Booyah is creating a “playful life companion that combines the immersive experiences that draw consumers to massively multi-player online games, the interconnectedness of social media, and the power of the iPhone and iPod touch.”

Booyah’s Keith Lee is obviously excited about the prospect of developing cool new games and apps for the iPhone. Moreover, he said they are delighted to have the new money from the iFund. Lee said: “We are incredibly excited to have Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and the iFund supporting us and guiding us in our vision.”
